Coffee Delivery and what a Postpartum Doula can do for YOU

One thing I can count on in the morning is my coffee delivery.

No this isn’t some new option that my local Starbucks or coffee shop offers.

It is my husband.

Every morning without me asking, he just knows, sometimes even before I am able to get myself out from under the covers.

Without it I can get through the day, I can make my own cup (but it never tastes as good), I can try and get to it while juggling a million other things. However, it is the start that I need to have a better day.

How would it feel to have someone so attuned to your needs as a new family as you transition into life with your newborn? Someone who helps you feel like your best possible self. A person who is not judging the choices you made for your growing family but offering you unwavering support.

Did you know a postpartum doula can do that for you?

They can help you find a comfortable position to breastfeed in.

They can help make sure the bottles are washed and ready for their next use.

They can make sure the laundry does not pile up all around you.

They can make sure the dishes don’t overtake your kitchen sink.

They can show you new ways to soothe your precious little bundle.

They can take care of diaper changes, burping, and getting your little one back to sleep so you can maximize your rest.

They can make sure you have a healthy snack on hand and a nutritious meal.

They can help you feel more confident in getting out of the house to run a few errands.

They can play with your older children while you take care of your newborn.

They can take care of your newborn while you spend quality time with your other children.

They can help you organize your nursery in a way that makes sense for you.

They can help you put together that complicated baby swing that you keep putting off.

They can be a listening ear when you just want to share the good, the bad, the ugly and the humorous.

They can be an adult to talk to about whatever you want when it seems that baby talk has taken over your life.

They can help you do research if there is something you want to know more about.

They can complete a to-do list that you have already written out.

They can help you figure out what you want done so you can be at your best.

And yes, they can even deliver your morning coffee to you.

This is just the start of what a postpartum doula can do for you.
